New Work?

I have yet to take decent photos of the new work I've done in the studio this past spring and summer. (The small 5 pixel point-and-shoot camera I have just doesn't cut it.) Hopefully I'll have a new camera mid-fall and can get new work posted soon after. Thanks for being patient!

The Harmony Project

The Harmony Project, led by by Anne Smidt, Cari Hernandez, and Rodney Thompson, included 32 artists from across the country working in encaustic. Each artist was assigned a panel to complete using a specified template and defined palette. (I was assigned panel #2). The completed work was recently purchased by the Encaustic Art Institute in New Mexico to become part of its' permanent collection. All proceeds from the sale benefit Habitat for Humanity. The installation piece is scheduled to tour 8 cities across the country, with it's first exhibition slated to debut in Albuquerque/Santa Fe, New Mexico.

New Work - New Series

I have been working on a series of paintings with Tibetan icons and prayer flags using wax, oil stick, mica and tissue. My panel for the collaborative Harmony Grid Project was completed within this series. I hope to post photographs at some point -- I still need to get a new camera.

Great Color!

Kings Blue from R & F Paints hot off the mill! So gorgeous! Hoping to get into the studio this week--I have a piece in progress I'd like to finish. Sketches and ideas for the N.E.W paper project are coming along.

What happened to the Blog?

In my attempt to update the look and functionality of my blog, I accidentally deleted a few things. (Well... everything.) Lesson learned: "Always back up your template". Oops.
